Youth Sailing Lessons 2025

Registration for the summer of 2025 will open February 6th for full day programs and February 7th for half day programs.
Our youth programs teach independence and confidence on the water. We offer hands-on learning opportunities for kids ages 6 – 17 using our Flying Scots, Sunfish, 420’s, and Opti’s.
Beginner Sailing Opportunities 
Youth Beginner Flying Scots
Open to ages 6-11. Beginners will learn basic sailing skills on board a Flying Scot sailboat. Students are on the boats in smalls groups with an instructor.
Beginner Teen Flying Scots
Open to ages 12-17. Beginners will learn the basics of sailing on board a Flying Scot sailboat. Students are on the boats in small groups with an instructor.
Intermediate Sailing Opportunities
Intermediate Sunfish
Open to ages 9-17. Sailors should already be comfortable with all skills covered in our beginner level classes. They will sail independently or with a peer as the instructor coaches from a coach boat. This course covers sailing a racecourse, safety positions and capsizing drills.
Intermediate OPTI Sailing
Open to ages 8 -12. Coach approval is required for this course. This class prepares students to independently rig, skipper and race.
Advanced Sailing Opportunities
Adventure Sailing
Open to ages 12-17 who are Independent skippers that are fully confident to rig and skipper a sunfish. Students will fine tune their skills by racing around courses with further exploration of the bay.
Advanced 420’s
Open to ages 12-17. This course is designed for the experienced and ambitious teen sailors. Sailors should be able to control their boat confidently, capsize safely and handle breezes up to 12 knots.
